Co-founded by Julian Mitchell and Ryan Creed in 2015 - when they decided to collect coffee waste from Australian cafes and restaurants and used it to grow gourmet mushrooms, which they could sell back to the community. Life Cykel has now transformed into an evolutionary mushroom biotechnology company that is harnessing the great potential that mushrooms possess. Life Cykel’s mission is to deliver the highest possible ethos attached to incredible, professional products to those that wish to upgrade their wellness and reach their true potential. Such products include their world famous full spectrum double liquid extracts infused with wild harvested Australia Kakadu Plum, which are developed using a unique double extraction process in their laboratories in Australia and USA.

Who is Life Cykel?

Life Cykel was co-founded in 2015 by Julian Mitchell and Ryan Creed, who started by collecting coffee waste from Australian cafes and growing mushrooms on it. That origin still shapes the brand: it is a mushroom company first, and an Australian one.

The range is built on double extracts - Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi, Turkey Tail, Chaga and Shiitake, each as a Double Extract Mushroom liquid - which is a different format from the powders most mushroom brands sell. The Biohacker Set collects several together, and Mushroom Coffee with Lion's Mane is the easy way in.

Beyond the mushrooms: Shilajit Pure Resin, Bee Pollen and Liposomal NR+. And two things nothing else here stocks - Nasal Strips and Mouth Tape, which is the brand's sleep and breathing side showing through.

Frequently asked questions

What is a double extract, and why does it matter?

Mushrooms hold their active compounds in two groups: beta-glucans, which come out in hot water, and triterpenes, which need alcohol. A double extract does both, so you get the full spectrum rather than half of it. It is the thing to look for on any mushroom label, and it is why these are liquids rather than powders.

Which mushroom should I start with?

Lion's Mane if focus is the interest, Cordyceps if it is stamina, Reishi if it is winding down. Those three cover most of why people try mushrooms. Mushroom Coffee with Lion's Mane is the cheapest way to find out whether you notice anything at all. The research on all of them is still young - go in with modest expectations.

Why does a mushroom company sell mouth tape?

Because the brand's interest runs to sleep and breathing as much as to supplements. Mouth tape encourages nasal breathing overnight and nasal strips open the airway - both are hardware rather than supplements, and both are genuinely useful if you snore or wake with a dry mouth. Not for anyone with a blocked nose or sleep apnoea, which is a conversation for a doctor.

What is Liposomal NR+?

Nicotinamide riboside in a liposomal delivery - an NAD+ precursor, so it sits in the longevity end of the store. It is a newer and fairly expensive category where the human evidence is still developing. Compare it against the alternatives in our Healthy Ageing range.
