It acts by becoming a slick gel when mixed with water, that coats and soothes the mouth, throat, stomach and intestines. Then as now, slippery elm is used to relieve sore throats, coughs, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome and diarrhea.

Henry Blooms Slipper Elm Bark proves to be extremely useful not only through its mucilage formation but also through its strong anti-oxidant effects which makes it a great remedy for wounds, burns, boils and other external skin conditions. It also may help relieve inflammatory bowel conditions like ulcerative colitis. Henry Blooms Slipper Elm Bark is vegan-friendly and free from gluten, wheat, yeast, animal products, lactose, milk derivatives, sugar, salt, artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
Each gram contains:
- Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra) bark powder, prepared using premium powder: 1 g (1000 mg).
No added gluten, wheat, yeast, animal products, lactose, milk derivatives, sugar, salt, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
- Adults: Mix one 5 ml teaspoonful of powder into a smooth paste in half a cup of cold water. Fill the cup with hot water, stirring continuously.
- Honey or a sprinkling of cinnamon may be added to taste.
- Henry Blooms Slippery Elm powder should be taken one to three times daily or as directed.
Drink plenty of water. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare practitioner. If diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3 years, 24 hours in children aged 3-6 or 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years, seek medical advice.
