Feeling exhausted after an intense workout is common, so it’s vital to replenish your energy stores and stave off muscle breakdown with an intake of carbohydrates afterwards. It is only by consuming fast-acting carb supplements (in conjunction with protein) immediately after a workout that you can achieve optimal muscle recovery and growth. Even if you’re getting a share of carbs in your diet from other meals, it’s highly recommended to take some carb supplements on board as soon as you’ve completed your workout. This is the best way to fully utilise the goodness of carbs while also utilising other post-workout ingredients such as creatine and L-Glutamine.
