Established in 2001, International Protein set off on a mission to create the best tasting supplements that money can buy, while remaining manufacturers of clean, Aussie supplements which were designed for high-performance athletes. Since 2001 International Protein has expanded into all walks of Supplementation!

Who is International Protein?

Established in 2001, International Protein is one of the older Australian manufacturers still going, and it has stuck to a clear brief: clean Australian-made formulas with the emphasis on how they taste. The names are blunt - Extreme Mass, War Hammer, Brutal Pump, Ripped To Shredz, Heavyweight Mass Gainer - and the range is aimed squarely at people training to get bigger.

Amino Charged WPI and Superior Whey are the proteins most people buy, with NiHPRO Hydrolysed Protein Isolate at the top end and Iso-Cuts and Whey Matrix alongside. What makes the range unusual is the protein sources it carries beyond whey: Apex Beef Protein Isolate, Natural Rice Protein and Natural Egg Albumen Protein - three things almost nothing else in the store stocks.

Then the training support: Kre-Alkalyn creatine, Extreme Carbs, Complete Amino, 2:ONE:1 BCAA, Brutal Pump, N.O. Ignition, Brutal Energy V2 and Carni-Shot, plus High Protein Pancakes and Protein Yoghurt on the food side.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I buy beef, rice or egg protein?

Mostly because whey does not suit you. Beef protein isolate and egg albumen are dairy-free but still animal proteins, so they carry a complete amino profile without the lactose - which plant proteins cannot always manage. Rice protein is the vegan option. They taste different from whey and mix differently, so buy the smallest size first.

What is Kre-Alkalyn?

A pH-buffered form of creatine, sold on the claim that it survives the stomach better than monohydrate. The evidence does not really show it outperforming plain monohydrate, which is cheaper and extremely well studied - so buy it if monohydrate upsets your stomach, not on the expectation of better results. Amino Charged WPI or Superior Whey?

Amino Charged WPI is the isolate - leaner, lower in lactose and carbohydrate, and the pick if you are watching either. Superior Whey is the blend and the better value per gram for everyday use. Most people are better served by the blend unless lactose is the issue.

Is International Protein actually made in Australia?

Yes - it has manufactured here since 2001, which is unusual in a category where most brands contract overseas. The AUST L or manufacturer detail on the label is where that is recorded.
