Amino Acid Supplements are highly popular among health enthusiasts, yielding performance benefits like enhanced muscle recovery, improved performance and an increase in muscle protein synthesis. There are 9 Essential Amino Acids (EAA's), of which 3 are known as BCAA's. These are Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. Essential Amino Acids are labeled “essential” because they are required to be obtained daily through nutrition (food and/or supplements). Research on the 9 EAAs has shown that the 3 Branched Chain Amino Acid's are the most “anabolic” and promote the biggest increase in muscle growth.
